SISSA – Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati (International School for Advanced Studies) is a research and further education institute. The school’s activities focus on three main areas: physics, mathematics and neurosciences. On top of these, there are also the initiatives of the Interdisciplinary Laboratory, dedicated to the relationship between science and society. The further education focuses on 12 PhD programmes and some post-graduate courses (Master’s). 35% of doctoral students and 50% of post-doctoral researchers at the school are from abroad; the official language is English.
SISSA offers a Master in Science Communication “Franco Prattico” and a Master in High Performance Computing in collaboration with the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), as well as schools and workshops in various fields of advanced research. In collaboration with other Universities (Trento, Trieste, Udine, Polytechnic University of Turin), it offers Master’s Degree courses in physics, mathematics and neurosciences.
